Itinerary
We will visit the charming Guápulo, located on the western hillside of Quito, and in the historical centre we will enjoy colonial architecture, legends, and learn about the Inca and pre-Inca importance of the area. On Plaza San Francisco, a trade spot long before the arrival of the Spaniards, we will visit the Tianguez Art Gallery. Afterwards, head 30min north to visit the Mitad del Mundo monument; here you can stand on the equator! Optional visit to the Intiñan Museum. |

| Guápulo The charming little area Guápulo is locted on the western hillside of Quito. Enjoy cobble stone streets, cosy little restaurants and cafes, and the famous church of Guápulo | Mitad del Mundo Stand on the equator! There is a large monument with an ethnographic museum, stores, and restaurants. However, GPS shows that the actual equator line is 240m away from the area, where you will find the Intiñan Museum. | Quito’s Historical City Centre Colonial plazas, buildings and churches display a fascinating mixture of Spanish and indigenous styles. The city was the first place in the world to be designated an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. |
