Born in Quito – Ecuador. Friends and colleagues call her Sole. Apart from being Marcel Perkins beloved wife and a Mother of 3. Sole is our general manager, she is in charge of finances and  keeping us organized and most important of all keeping Marcel´s feet on the ground. She holds a University degree in Computer science and higher education. She loves children and visiting with family. In Ecuador families are very close and relatives get together several times a year for holidays and other special occasions, the latest family reunion at Sole´s Grandmothers house gathered 100 relatives. “I love my family and sharing time with my parents, grandparents,  my sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins… we are over 150 people on my Mother´s side alone and we all get along and visit each other quite often. I love to travel and visit other cultures, but after a few weeks abroad I need to be back in Ecuador, I get homesick for my country quickly, it is the strong hold Ecuador has over its people and anyone who has visited”. One of her favorite cities in Ecuador is Cuenca, she could walk its cobblestone streets for days.

Born in Livingston, New Jersey, USA. Marcel founded Latin Trails as a way to protect the natural wonders and local culture of Ecuador through sustainable tourism, he is in charge of dreaming up new trips and travel services. Marcel grew up travelling, his first visit to Ecuador was before he could walk, at the age of 7 his parents finally moved to Ecuador and South America became his home and muse. His passion for travel and nature won over his love for music and soccer. Marcel holds a University degree in Marketing and Finances. He speaks English, Spanish and conversational French. Marcel has explored every corner of Ecuador and has visited over 20 countries promoting his beloved Ecuador . “Every country has something wonderful to share, yet I have not found a place that matches Ecuador, It is a beautiful country. I have lived here most of my life and every day I get to discover something new and fascinating, truly the most diverse country in the world”. Together with Sole, they have 3 kids Emily, Mathias and Celeste whom with no exception have visited all regions of Ecuador and love to join their parents on scouting trips for new destinations. “Dream, Discover, Live Ecuador”.
