LTE-QDT003: City Tour (Equator)

A great way to hit the highlights of Quito; you will visit the historical center, the charismatic Guápulo, visit the look out point on the Panecillo, and go to the “Middle of the World.” You will enjoy historic plazas, buildings, and churches that display a fascinating mixture of Spanish and indigenous architecture. Then you will have a chance to stand on the equator (located only 30min north of Quito). Optional visit to the Intiñan Museum.

Itinerary

We will visit the charming Guápulo, located on the western hillside of Quito, and in the historical centre we will enjoy colonial architecture, legends, and learn about the Inca and pre-Inca importance of the area. On Plaza San Francisco, a trade spot long before the arrival of the Spaniards, we will visit the Tianguez Art Gallery. Afterwards, head 30min north to visit the Mitad del Mundo monument; here you can stand on the equator! Optional visit to the Intiñan Museum.
