Volcano Sierra Negra is located at Isabela Island, which is the biggest island of the archipelago.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador and the Galapagos National Park Authority, approximately 250 inhabitants from local communities near the volcano have been evacuated. The last eruption of this volcano was in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Sierra Negra volcano has a crater of 9 km (5.59 mi) long and 7 km (4.35 mi) wide, and it is one of the sites that travelers visit every day as part of their land or cruise trip. The Secretary of Risk Management reports that the eruption is at a moderate level.
