The Devil’s Nose Train Route is back, and Latin Trails presents an exclusive itinerary!
On August 20th, Latin Trails had the honor of being the only officially invited tour operator at the inauguration of the Alausí train, celebrating the reopening of the legendary Devil’s Nose route.
For us, it was a true privilege to be part of this historic event, which marks a milestone in Ecuador’s economic reactivation and, even more, to be the very first to ride this train once again, filled with history, tradition, and breathtaking landscapes.
An Exclusive Itinerary with Latin Trails
Inspired by this new chapter, Latin Trails has designed an exclusive itinerary that includes the Devil’s Nose route, inviting travelers from around the world to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience that blends culture, history, and the most spectacular landscapes of the Andes.

The Train as a Symbol of Connection
Beyond its tourism value, the reopening of the train strengthens connections between people and communities. During the event, we had the opportunity to speak with Carlos Oviedo, Operations Manager at Hotel Abraspungo, who shared his perspective on the project:
“This project will not only boost tourism but will also help hotels like Hacienda Abraspungo increase their sales,” Oviedo mentioned, highlighting the importance of the train as a driver for the local economy.

Support from the Ministry and Authorities
The event brought together representatives from both the tourism sector and the government, who expressed their excitement about this relaunch.
Ecuador’s Minister of Transport and Public Works, Roberto Luque Nuques, emphasized the importance of keeping this tourism icon alive and said:
“I am proud to be part of this project, and I now place it in your hands and those of the communities, to bring it back to life after 5 years.”
Meanwhile, Ecuador’s Vice President thanked everyone in attendance and encouraged continued promotion of this unique attraction that represents the best of the country:
“Let us continue to proudly share this icon of our Ecuador.”

Our Commitment
