Quito | Amazon (Hakuna Matata Lodge – Archidona) | Papallacta

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Quito. Private transfer and overnight at Wyndham Garden or similar near the airport

Day 2: Quito Colonial City Tour + afternoon transfer to Hakuna Matata Lodge near Tena. Guided jungle walk and dinner at the lodge. Overnight at Hakuna Matata.

Days 3: Full-day Amazon experience from Hakuna Matata: visit Tena local market, canoe ride on the Napo area, guided jungle hike in Selva Viva, visit to AmaZOOnico animal rescue center, lunch in a local community, cultural activities and caiman spotting. Overnight at Hakuna Matata.

Days 4: Morning at Hakuna Matata. Transfer to Papallacta hot springs on the Andean slopes. Time to enjoy thermal pools, optional spa treatments, and mountain views (weather permitting, views of Antisana). Overnight at Termas de Papallacta Hotel.

Day 5: Morning at leisure in Papallacta. Private transfer back to Quito. End of services.

Days 3: Flight to Galapagos and embarkation on M/Y Seaman Journey. Afternoon visit to Bartolomé Island to view Pinnacle Rock and snorkel with sea lions and penguins.

Days 4: Visit Mosquera Islet and North Seymour. Observe blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and sea lions along white-sand beaches.

Day 5: Explore Genovesa Island, El Barranco and Darwin Bay. Walk among red-footed boobies, petrels, and owls, and enjoy snorkeling in calm waters.

Day 4: Explore San Cristóbal Island — Punta Pitt and Lobos Island. Observe all three booby species and frigatebirds, and snorkel alongside playful sea lions.

Day 5: Visit Española Island — Gardner Bay and Punta Suárez. Relax on white-sand beaches, spot sea lions, albatrosses, and blue-footed boobies, and photograph the famous blowhole.

Day 3: Flight to Galapagos and embarkation on M/Y Seaman Journey. Visit Santa Cruz Highlands to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat before boarding.

Day 4: Explore Isabela (Moreno Point) and Fernandina (Mangle Point). Walk over lava fields, spot flightless cormorants, and snorkel with sea lions and rays.

Day 5: Visit Isabela (Urbina Bay & Tagus Cove). Encounter giant tortoises, penguins, and marine iguanas, and hike to Darwin Lake for scenic views.

Day 6: Discover Fernandina (Espinoza Point) and Isabela (Vicente Roca Point). Observe marine iguanas, penguins, and blue-footed boobies; snorkel with sea turtles and sunfish.

Day 1: Arrival in Quito. Private transfer and overnight at Wyndham Airport or similar.

Day 2: Travel east toward the Andean cloud forest. Stop at Guango Lodge for birdwatching before continuing to Hakuna Matata Lodge near Tena. Guided rainforest walk and welcome dinner.

Day 3: Visit Tena’s local market, take a canoe ride through the forest, and explore the AmaZOOnico rescue center. Learn from local communities and enjoy a traditional lunch.

Day 4: Participate in a chocolate-making experience and enjoy leisure time or optional hikes and relaxation at the lodge.

Day 5: Rafting adventure on the Napo River (Jatunyacu or Anzu), followed by return transfer to Quito. Overnight at Wyndham.
